Tripped up on travel

by Jourdan Fairchild in

Just as soon as Andrew's taken his last medical school exam of the year, we're planning to jet off to somewhere fabulous. Summer 2013 will be his last free summer, so we want to take full advantage of it. And while having a tight budget has narrowed down our destinations, there's a whole world's worth of places we're dying to see. We've been quizzing friends and consulting travel blogs like Fathom Away, but for some reason, we're feeling anxious about pushing the purchase button. We spent our honeymoon in Tulum, Mexico sipping margaritas and cenote diving (check out my iphone shot below), so this time around, we're looking for more less beach time—am I really saying this?—and more cultural stuff. For now, our list includes Istanbul, Portugal, Copenhagen, and Panama City. Do you have any recommendations for a week-long getaway this May that'd be budget-friendly, culturally rich, and beautiful? Please share!
