Mood Board: Sloane's Room

This mood board has been in the works for months and it’s finally at a place where I feel comfortable sharing it. Some room designs come together quickly, and to be honest, this one has not. I think I feel an extra set of pressure because it’s the first room in this home that involves a paid (!) partnership, which is a goal I’ve been working toward for several months. I’m so proud of myself for getting to this point, only 6 or so months after working full-time in this social media space. My account is still quite small, but brands like to see that my followers are loyal and engaged. As much as I’d love to grow to attract more brands, I’d rather have followers truly invested in me than chase big numbers. So thank you for following along and reading these posts. Truly!

So who am I working with? My lovely friends at Spoonflower, who’ve agreed to provide all of the textiles for Sloane’s room: ready-made curtains, fabric for Roman shades, duvet cover, bed skirts, pillows, fabric for a window seat, and fabric for the desk chair.

I’ve spent many weeks scouring their archives for patterns that would complement the room’s mauve-purple walls. I’m using the the vintage rug I already purchased as a starting point, and then I landed on some ridiculously cool sconces for the window seat. I’ll be DIYing a flushmount based on a linen pendant I’ve had my eyes on, and I’ve been gifted some felt tiles to create a pinboard above Sloane’s desk. I still need to settle on a nightstand and table lamps, but the space is really coming together and I’m nervous/excited to see where it all lands.
