Curiosity is the truth and the way of creative living.
— Elizabeth Gilbert

Born into a family that encouraged her natural curiosity, young Jourdan always had more questions than answers. She loved experimenting with colors and painting with her grandmother, an artist whose work now fills her house.

After a move with her husband to Chicago, she worked as a freelance creative consultant at Crate & Barrel, CB2, Trunk Club, and NBC. In 2017, they moved again to Durham, North Carolina, where she launched a small-scale design firm focused on helping people spruce and style their own spaces.

In her first career as a lifestyle magazine editor in New York City, Jourdan absorbed the world of art and design as she interviewed expert interior designers, stylists, and tastemakers. She worked for Oprah, produced and appeared in national TV segments, and this is where she first really fell in love with interior design.

In 2021, she paused client work for another move—this time to Winston-Salem—where she and her husband started renovating two homes (a 1900 Victorian that became a rental property, the other, their current family home). Through this process, she learned about construction, project management, and how to create and execute a cohesive, all-encompassing design vision.
