Sloane's window seat sconces are IN!

Four score and seven months ago, Andrew miraculously extended the electrical from a single outlet along the baseboard up into the columns on either side of the window seat for scones. Honestly I was amazed (and continue to be) at his ever-evolving understanding and confidence with electrical projects. That was in January.

Then I found some incredible vintage sconces from Italy that somehow ended up in Australia two months after they were sent to me. But I think it’s for the better because I love the ones I eventually landed on. Designing Sloane’s room has been a true exercise for me in taking my time and also selecting unique pieces that you won’t see everywhere (but also don’t cost a fortune).

Sloane loves that these look like upside down ice cream cones, and I love the aged brass with the modern round light bulb. And while they’re a bit bigger than I’d anticipated, I love that the don’t feel too dinky or too high to be effective. The only hiccup we had with installation is that they don’t have a standard raised backplate, so we (Andrew) had to do some extra finagling to get them properly installed. Thank God for Bondo.

I can’t WAIT to see this window seat finished SO SOON. It’s going to be a dream come true.
